Working on some Longplays
Been doing a lot of longplay vids lately. Posting some of my more favorite ones below. Anyone interested in doing some co-op longplays, drop me a line and come be a part time member of the Squad.
Demon’s Crest – SNES – Full Playthrough
Full playthrough of Demon’s Crest by Gamesquad Squad. I had always wanted to play this game because I was told that is was difficult and I like a challenge, but it’s a pretty pricey cart. I guess I had the option to get it as a kid, but I was turned off by the fact that they removed a lot of the RPG elements that the NES predecessor had. Turns out that was a stupid reason not to buy the game. I finally managed to get my hands on one for a price that wasn’t too steep. The game was good, I definitely enjoyed it, but I’m a little disappointed because it wasn’t nearly as difficult as I had been lead to believe. The final boss however was nearly impossible. Almost the entirety of the 3rd video is us trying to be the final boss. That’s about an hour and a half of fighting the same putz over and over. The game reminded me somewhere of a cross between Mega Man X and Act Raiser and actually did have a fair about of RPG elements to it. Also, the fact that you can fly indefinitely without a wing strength meter makes this game far superior than the other Gargoyle’s Quest games.
Unboxing – My First Video
This is my fist and last unboxing video. It pretty much expresses the absurdity of this trend. Now before anyone goes pointing fingers, I am fully aware of the irony of me making this video. I consider myself a bit of a tech whore and a collector, so I’m poking fun at myself as much as other nerds out there.
Unboxing – A Silly YouTube Trend
What’s the big deal? There are unboxing videos all over YouTube. Why? This is such an unnecessary trend. Is this some form of self-gratification? Showing off to the world something that they don’t have. I could understand these videos if the main goal was to educate the consumer; to give them an idea of not only the quality of the product but the value for their dollar, but this does not seem to be the case. Why would a video of the unboxing of the Game of Thrones blu-ray be useful to anyone? ANYONE can own this. It’s easy to come by and there’s no science to it. Unwrap shrink-wrap, open case, play blu-ray. Easy. There does seem to be one positive side effect however – the underground market of homebrewers and crafters of reproduction carts could see a boost in sales from this trend.
This is a prime example of what’s ridiculous about this trend. You don’t need a video describing each and every aspect of the item as it’s being unpacked. “The first thing you’re going to see is the headset itself” No kidding. Thanks guy. My own two eyes would never have been able to perceive that without your help. What makes this video worse is that this guy sounds like a total bro.
I’m glad to see someone shares my sentiments on unboxing
Here’s an example of a repro. The video may be garbage, but it serves a purpose. It shows a quality product that we can’t find on shelves. It helps people in the indie video game business with genuine consumer feedback.
This is the only unboxing video I’ve found that’s worth watching. I’ve posted this one before, but it’s worth watching again. He’s my favorite
FUS RO DAH!!!
Because I’m hopelessly sick and can’t pull myself away from Skyrim, I’ve decided to share the top 10 videos I’ve seen on youtube that are Skyrim related. Yes I am completely aware that you could easily go on youtube yourself and check out these videos, but I’ve done all the work for you. No really, this is a cry for help. Really, help me. I can’t stop. Every waking moment is spent playing Skyrim. I’ve stopped eating, I’m losing sleep, my marriage suffers, food had no flavor anymore…
Anyway, top 10 videos in no particular order. Though the top one is totally #1 and if you disagree, you’re just wrong.
Excellent vocals. Do yourself a favor, if you watch no other of these videos, watch at least this one.
8-bit win
Great Dungeons and Dragons cartoon parody.
Because I love Mega Man…
This is great, I just wish they had the vocals with this as well.
Someone has a little too much time on their hands huh?
This may not fit into a “best of” list, but this person needs to receive as much hate mail as the internet will allow. And that’s a lot of hate mail. I mean, I get it. There’s glitches. But does that make it the worst RPG ever? No. And with a game that huge, I expect glitches. It doesn’t lessen my enjoyment of the game. I’d seek to kill the creator of this video, but I much prefer to force him into suicide.
There are many Skyrim unboxing videos out there, but this one is by far the best.
What’s a top 10 without a kitten video?
And what’s one more?
